Congratulations to the [**Edmonton Elks**](https://www.goelks.com/) on clinching the West Division last week with their 35-27 win over Winnipeg. It was a great day in Edmonton to witness this occasion, as it has been a long time coming.

This achievement gives Edmonton a day's rest for the starting roster, but also gives other teams a chance to reevaluate their rosters heading into the postseason, giving playing time to depth players who haven’t experienced this season.

Also to note, it is reported by the Weather Network of an estimated 62 km/h winds, including the wind gust, for tomorrow’s game in Regina.

**Depth Charts**

**Injury Report: Edmonton**

**Injury Report: Saskatchewan**

**Players to watch: Edmonton Elks**

**QB – Taylor Powell**

He has a great arm. Look for Taylor Powell to use his arm strength as an advantage. He had limited playing time this season. He stepped in well while in Hamilton in a backup role.

**WR – Joshua Cephus**

A great, reliable receiver who has taken a major step forward with a long list of depth in the wide receiver department in Edmonton. Joshua Cephus has made a big impact with 631 yards and 3 touchdowns.

**RB – ShunDerrick Powell**

He hasn’t played a lot. However, he is a hard runner with speed, picking up first downs in situational plays for the Elks this season.

**Players to watch: Saskatchewan Roughriders**

**WR – Dhel Duncan-Busby**

732 yards, 5 touchdowns, and a 13.3 average yards after the catch.

**WR – Daniel Wiebe**

315 receiving yards, 2 touchdowns, on only 20 receptions.

**LB – Jameer Thurman**

He is what you want in a linebacker with his 100 tackles this season.

**Keys to an Edmonton victory:**

With many starters on both teams resting their first unit, the keys to an Edmonton victory will look different.

**Be creative**

Try new things. It’s time to experiment with formations and plays you wanted to try in the past.

**Gamble on 3rd down**

We are not saying to take a chance every time you are on 3rd down. However, you have a longer leash in this game to do so, especially in the red zone.

**The running game**

It would be wise to mix in the depth of ShunDerrick Powelland Javon Leake for most of the running plays. They are great options to complement Justin Rankin, who will be resting in this game.

**Prediction**

There is no clear favourite in this game, as there is nothing to play for to a certain extent. The edge goes to Saskatchewan. A win will have Saskatchewan at 10-8, good enough for 3rd place in the West Division. A loss will push them to 4th and make them a crossover team for the East Semi-Final in Toronto, assuming Winnipeg wins in week 21.

**Final Score**

Edmonton Elks: 27

Saskatchewan Roughriders: 21

It really is a flip of a coin. With that said, the edge goes in favour of the Edmonton depth, which played a big role this season with key injuries to the roster and filled in beautifully.
