## The matchup

According to NFL game notes, San Francisco's 5-0 start is just the third time in the past eight seasons the franchise has opened this hot, joining 2019 and 2023.

Washington's last five results read T-L-W-L-L: a 27-27 overtime tie with the New York Giants, a 13-30 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, a 33-31 win over the Seattle Seahawks, a 20-37 loss at the Dallas Cowboys and a 22-24 loss at the Philadelphia Eagles. San Francisco has reeled off five straight: 32-29 at the Seattle Seahawks, 24-14 over the Denver Broncos, 36-30 over the Arizona Cardinals, 35-13 over the Miami Dolphins and 27-7 at the Los Angeles Rams.

## Key matchups

Jayden Daniels gives Washington's offense a different dimension with his legs. He completed 17 of 25 passes for 199 yards and added 103 rush yards with 2 rushing touchdowns in Week 5, one of just two quarterbacks with 100-plus rush yards in a single game this season. He's chasing a third straight Monday night game with 200-plus pass yards and 2-plus touchdown passes.

Brock Purdy is the only quarterback with 2-plus touchdown passes and a 90-plus rating in each of the first five weeks, and he's going for a sixth straight game with multiple touchdown passes. [Christian McCaffrey](https://profootballnewshub.com/nfl/players/christian-mccaffrey) posted 83 scrimmage yards and a rushing score in Week 5 and has a touchdown in two of his past three games against Washington.

On the other side, [Terry McLaurin](https://profootballnewshub.com/nfl/players/terry-mclaurin) is chasing a third straight game against San Francisco with 60-plus receiving yards and a touchdown catch. [Mike Evans](https://profootballnewshub.com/nfl/players/mike-evans) led the 49ers with 7 catches for 113 yards and a touchdown in Week 5 and has a touchdown catch in two of his last three.

## Fantasy angles

Brock Purdy projects for 22.5 DraftKings points and carries no injury designation, making him an easy start.

Jayden Daniels projects for 22.0 points, with his rushing production giving him a high floor even in a tough road spot.

Christian McCaffrey projects for 20.5 points and is in every lineup regardless of matchup.

George Kittle projects for 13.0 points and remains a reliable starting option at tight end.

Mike Evans projects for 15.5 points but carries a Questionable tag with a rib injury, worth a final check before kickoff.

## The pick

San Francisco is favored by 7.5 with the total set at 52.0, and the market projects a 30-22 49ers win.

The unbeaten streak, Purdy's run of multi-touchdown games and the home environment make San Francisco the clear choice here, though Washington's tie last week shows this team won't fold easily.
