The Montreal Alouettes travel to take on the Saskatchewan Roughriders Saturday afternoon at Mosaic. Montreal improved to 13-3 last week with a 44-24 win over Saskatchewan on Thanksgiving Monday. Saskatchewan has dropped to 8-8 and is looking to end a 4-game losing slide to not drop out of a very close playoff race. Montreal has 1st place in the East locked up and are resting several starters to heal up ahead of the playoffs, including quarterback Davis Alexander, receivers Tyson Philpot and Tyler Snead, and running back Stevie Scott III. Dustin Crum will get the start at quarterback.
Date/Location: Saturday, October 17, 2026 / Mosaic Stadium, Regina, SK Kickoff Time: 7:00 PM ET / 4:00 PM PT Channel: TSN, RDS (Canada), CFL+ (USA, Global) Odds (If you place bets, please do so responsibly in moderation):Spread: Montreal +6.5 (-110), Saskatchewan -6.5 (-110)
Moneyline: Montreal +225, Saskatchewan -280
Over/Under: 56.5 (Over -110, Under -110)
Montreal Alouettes: Davis Alexander completed 26 of 33 passes for 403 yards with 5 touchdowns and 1 interception last week. Stevie Scott III rushed 10 times for 44 yards. Jerreth Sterns caught all 8 of his targets for 124 yards. Tyler Snead had 8 catches for 75 yards and 2 touchdowns. Tyson Philpot added 5 catches for 74 yards and a touchdown. Charleston Rambo had 2 catches for 96 yards and 2 scores. Tyrice Beverette led the defence with 7 tackles.
This week, look to the likes of Charleston Rambo, Alexander Hollins, and Jereth Sterns to step up at receiver with Philpot, Snead, and Spieker out. Shomari Lawrence will start at running back and Dustin Crum at quarterback.
Saskatchewan Roughriders: Trevor Harris completed 23 of 33 passes for 243 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception last week. A.J. Ouellette rushed 11 times for 77 yards. Kian Schaffer-Baker had 4 catches for 76 yards and 2 touchdowns, Dhel Duncan-Busby caught all 6 of his targets for 62 yards, and Jalen Johnson III added 5 catches for 42 yards. Avery Miller Jr. led the defence with 8 tackles and a quarterback sack.
The Roughriders' playoff chances looked like a sure thing prior to this losing streak of 4 games, 3 of which were to divisional opponents who also have 8 wins. The Riders have the benefit of playing Montreal in a game where some big stars are not playing for the Alouettes, but they will need to take their opponents seriously as the Alouettes are still fielding a very capable team.
Alouette's Keys to the Game
Play clean with the backups
Crum is getting the start, and Alexander is listed as the third-string quarterback. Montreal does not need a track-meet win but needs to avoid negative plays and turnovers. Dustin Crum is an exciting player with a great capacity to pick up yards on the ground and showed a lot of upside in the past when he had extended playing time with Ottawa.
Lean on Lawrence early
Stevie Scott III is out, and Shomari Lawrence is the only running back listed. Feed him early to provide Crum with run support and keep the defense on their toes.
Limit Johnson and Emilus’ return
Roughriders’ receivers KeeSean Johnson and Samuel Emilus are both back after missing Monday’s game. Montreal’s secondary has to be right on the first deep shot so Harris cannot turn the return into an immediate rhythm.
Don’t chase the scoreboard
With Montreal’s roster having a different-looking personnel in this contest, Montreal may have a different mindset in this game. They need to still stick to their game plan if they find themselves behind early.
Alouettes to Watch
16 QB Dustin Crum
Crum will get his first start of the season since signing with Montreal this season. He can extend plays in the backfield and pick up yards with his legs and has a good throwing capacity. He is an underrated player in my opinion.
35 RB Shomari Lawrence
Lawrence has rushed 31 times for 199 yards (6.4 average), and will get the start this season.
89 WR Jerreth Sterns
Sterns caught all 8 targets for 124 yards last week. He has 21 catches for 281 yards over 4 games.
4 WR Charleston Rambo
Rambo had 2 catches for 96 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Monday win. He has 9 catches for 168 yards and 2 touchdowns over 3 games.
26 LB Tyrice Beverette
Beverette had 7 tackles against Saskatchewan. He has 61 tackles, 5 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 2 interceptions on the season.
Roughriders to Watch
7 QB Trevor Harris
Harris was 23 of 33 for 243 yards and 2 touchdowns in the loss. He has the 2nd most yards so far this season after completing 70.1% of his passes for 5,117 yards and 31 touchdowns with 14 interceptions.
89 WR KeeSean Schaffer-Baker
Schaffer-Baker had 4 catches for 76 yards and 2 touchdowns last week. He has 63 catches for 961 yards and 7 touchdowns over 10 games.

Score Prediction:
I am predicting the Saskatchewan Roughriders to win a close one at home, 30-27. Saskatchewan has to win this game. To lose a fifth straight game while being at home against a team resting stars would be disastrous. I expect Saskatchewan to win this game out of necessity.
