NEW YORK – Oct. 21, 2026 - The National Football League announced the next chapter of NFL Artist Replay with the introduction of NFL COLOR FIELD, a new platform that brings football and visual arts together through large-scale installations, original programming and immersive cultural experiences. The initiative will debut in Paris ahead of the NFL’s first-ever regular-season game in France and continue in Miami during Miami Art Week in December, creating opportunities for artists, athletes and fans to connect.
Launched in 2023, NFL Artist Replay was designed to spotlight diverse artistic voices and celebrate the stories, identities, and cultural perspectives that shape the world of football. NFL COLOR FIELD builds on that foundation, anchoring each moment with a signature artist partnership and large-scale installation that transforms a football field into a canvas for original artwork.
“When we launched NFL Artist Replay, our goal was to celebrate football through the creative lens of our community while creating a platform for emerging artists to tell their own stories through the game,” said Ian Trombetta, NFL senior vice president of global social, content and creator Marketing. “NFL COLOR FIELD takes that vision to a global stage, partnering with acclaimed artists to transform one of football’s most iconic symbols, like a football field, into a cultural canvas that connects art, culture, and the game at some of the NFL’s most significant events.”
NFL COLOR FIELD, curated and conceptualized in partnership with arts strategist Jasmine Martin of Pivotal Arts, will make its global debut in Paris during a week that brings together the NFL's historic first regular-season game in France and Art Basel Paris. Acclaimed artist Jammie Holmes, a Louisiana native and lifelong New Orleans Saints fan, will lead the inaugural installation, bringing his distinctive artistic perspective to the field. A recent fellow at Paris' Académie des Beaux-Arts and Cité internationale des arts, Holmes also shares a personal connection to the city. During his residency, he discovered that his great-grandfather, a Louisiana native, was stationed in Brest and made his way to Montmartre during World War I.
The NFL COLOR FIELD Paris installation will feature Holmes' painting Untitled (2024), which depicts a child emerging from morning glory flowers and explores themes of the fleeting nature of youth and the intentionality of parenthood. The hand-painted end zone, fabricated in New York by a field specialist and a team of six muralists, will be transported to Paris and assembled on the flag football field at NFL Experience Paris presented by Wilson. The free public event will take place Oct. 23–24 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Place Jacques-Rueff beneath the Eiffel Tower. In addition to seeing Holmes' artwork at NFL Experience Paris, fans can also enjoy flag football sessions, skills workshops and interactive challenges in partnership with the French American Football Federation (FFFA), with registration available through the NFL OnePass app. It all builds to game day on Sunday, Oct. 25, when the Pittsburgh Steelers face the New Orleans Saints at Stade de France.
“There’s something powerful about bringing a piece of Louisiana and Saints fandom to Paris, especially knowing that my own family’s history stretches across both places,” said Jammie Holmes. “So much of my art is about the things we carry with us, like our memories, our families and our backgrounds. I’m grateful to the NFL for giving me the opportunity to share my story on this unexpected canvas with NFL COLOR FIELD, and to bring the work to a city that has become such a meaningful part of my own journey. More than anything, I hope it shows young people that creativity is possible for them too – that they can take their own stories and roots and turn them into something that reaches the world.”
Home to iconic museums and artist communities, Paris provides a perfect backdrop for players and fans to merge their love of the game with art. The NFL will host additional art initiatives including conversations exploring the intersection of art, football and community at NFL House Paris created with Adobe. On Friday, Oct. 23, Holmes will join NFL Legend Keith Rivers and Thomas Moore III, executive director of the American Friends of the Louvre, for a conversation at 5 p.m.
Following Paris, the NFL will return to Art Basel Miami Beach in December, spotlighting NFL COLOR FIELD and bringing together NFL players, Legends and leading voices in contemporary art for a series of curated experiences centered around a new COLOR FIELD installation. Additional details on participating artists and programming will be announced closer to the Miami event.
Fans can follow NFL Artist Replay presents COLOR FIELD and explore the artists, installations and stories behind the initiative across NFL platforms and on the official @NFL social channels.
